NEWS

So many news!

My zine HEIRS is nominated at the Zine Awards 2018 for the best perzine category!!! I will find out on September 22nd if I win!

Next week, on September 15th, I am releasing a new photozine called GAMEBOY CAMERA EROTICA PT.1. The title is straight forward, it is erotic pictures taken with a Gameboy camera. The zine is mostly photo-based (that’s new for me!) and black and white and low resolution. As far as I know, it is an unique concept. I’ll show you the cover soon, I am still putting the finishing touches to the zine.

I have been doing pre-orders to help me finance production costs. You can pre-order by writing me at: a.ton.insu@gmail.com
EVERYONE WHO PRE-ORDERS WILL GET A PERSONALIZED BONUS ITEM AS A THANK YOU FOR PRE-ORDERING.

And last but not least, this year, you can catch me in person at these events:
NORFOLK ZINE FEST (in Norfolk, Virginia) - Sept. 15th
TORONTO CANZINE (Toronto, Canada) - Sept. 22nd
OTTAWA CANZINE (Ottawa, Canada) - Oct. 13th

see you soon!

HEIRS was officially released on November 25th, during the 2017 edition of Expozine. Hand-stitched with pink thread, the zine is both grayscale and in color, printed on cardstock and 20lb paper. It is the final version of the previously released HEIRS HAIRS (beta version).

The cover features a picture of my own hair, intertwined with strands donated by three friends, that I weaved to spell the zine title on a hairbrush. I had been working on hair typography since 2009, and writing this personal story since 2011 - Heirs is a combination of both ideas.

It is about loss, hoarding and surviving family members.

HEIRS HAIRS (beta version) (2017) was created and released in only 20 copies, exclusively for the very first edition of Norfolk Zine Fest, down in the state of Virginia, in the US. That zine was about the aftermath of the passing of a loved one, within the context of a dysfunctional family. It included strands of my hair in a ziploc bag. Though this issue is sold out, a final (better) version will be released at the end of November 2017, hopefully at Montreal’s Expozine 2017!

This postcard of Mark McGrath and myself (pictured above in the center) is a little companion to the À Sens Unique zine series, but can also be acquired on its very own. If you want to decorate your refrigerator and/or fund the revival of Sugar Ray’s career, this is the way to do it! (Printed on 100 lbs cardstock, handcut.)

À Sens Unique Pt.1 (released at Salon du disque et des arts underground de Montréal in 2016) is a zine about my life-long obsession with celebrities. Inside the cover, you can find a homemade scratcher which hides 15 pictures of me and some famous person. (For example, shown above is Jason Sudeikis and myself). Pt.1 is the first in a series of many. This issue in particular deals with meeting Bjork and Tripping Daisy.
